Milton Keynes businesses interested in becoming members of x+why need not to worry about being perfectly green, as x+why are looking for those who want to learn and improve, be inspired to create impact, and collaborate with fellow members. Through sustainable fit-outs and local partnerships, bespoke purpose programmes and events, and a calendar of community socials, x+why will be helping the local business community to measure their impact, improve their ESG credentials, and outshine their competition.

A world-class workplace in Milton Keynes

Unity Place is not only a convenient workspace for many, positioned in the centre of the Oxford-Cambridge Arc and a zippy train’s ride from London, but this landmark building is packed with amenities. It will house an urban food market and shops on the ground floor, a restaurant, brewery, community hall, and a 300-capacity auditorium, as well as a rooftop running track.  Santander’s vision for a lifestyle campus which supports the future of work is perfectly aligned with x+why’s own ambitions to nurture community and collaboration.

The two brands also align through shared ESG and Sustainability commitments, delivering exceptional green credentials to new tenants. At Unity Place, sustainability and staff wellbeing are core objectives for the project. The building is on target to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating for its environmental performance and is being thoughtfully designed to support the health and wellbeing of its occupants. Features include 400 solar rooftop panels generating green energy for the building; harvesting rainwater from the roof to use for irrigation and flushing toilets; and outdoor ‘garden bridges’, where people can get a fresh air and greenery fix.

A bright future
Unity Place’s vast presence at the end of Midsummer Boulevard makes a huge impression visually, x+why are excited to support Milton Keynes businesses in doing the same in practice and positive impact. Unity is the perfect word with which to set out, and Better Businesses gives us all an important communal goal. x+why are excited to help pave a path for and shine a light on people using business as a force for good in this impressive and important city.
