Why B Programme

Bringing together responsible business to create greater impact

x+why are proud to have partnered with B Lab UK to create the Why B Programme, designed to motivate businesses as they complete their B Impact Assessment (BIA), with the support of dedicated B leaders and trainees, a network of peers, and an inspiring environment in which to meet and work.

What:

A group of 10-20 companies completing the B Impact Assessment together over a two month period with the help of B Leaders.  These sessions will be hosted at x+why, two afternoons a month.

They will give attendees the opportunity to understand their impact, improve it, have fun and create long term impact within their company, as well as meet and network with like-minded businesses and CEO's.

The mission of this collaboration is to create greater impact by motivating companies to complete the B Impact Assessment within inspiring environments, supported by like-minded peers
— Rupert Dean, Co-Founder & CEO, x+why

Why:

Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

The B Impact Assessment is the most credible and rigorous tool a company can use to measure it's impact. It is a series of questions, which to help learn how to build a better business - for your workers, community and the environment. The Assessment is a powerful business planning tool and useful lens to look at your company through - whether you plan to apply for certification or not.

The process of certification provides businesses of all sizes and types a great framework to understand where they are today and what immediate steps they can take on a journey to becoming a true force for good. I guarantee just the act of starting this process will drive real engagement amongst your employees and be a great signal of your intent

The assessment itself is an incredibly comprehensive and powerful tool for growing a business. You are asked really relevant and pertinent questions, that force you to really look inside your business, and consider your vision, mission and principles. It’s an amazing business planning tool.
— Mark Cuddigan, CEO Ella's Kitchen
